Monea and the Appchain Thesis
The web3 industry is desperately trying to scale, and quickly. One of the key scaling opportunities for the long-term vision of Ethereum (and all of crypto) is moving the execution layer to rollups. We’ve seen an influx of new rollups come up, and we predict this movement of rollup deployments will 10x (at least) in the near future.
Every Rollup is Unique
These thousands of rollups will not only be general-purpose, but app-specific. And each will be built using the latest innovations in blockchain R&D. They will use modular technologies, such as Celestia, and decentralized supply chain mechanisms, such as Based Sequencing. Many rollups will be sovereign, while others choose delegate everything except the execution layer.
Every team has their own values on crypto-related narratives. Some are decentralization maxis, others prefer centralization for the sake of performance. Regardless of where these teams sit on crypto’s philosophical spectrum, Monea is the unopinionated platform for every rollup.
Though we aim to support every rollup ecosystem and configuration, we at Monea are prioritizing a few select technologies because we believe they a) are important and beneficial to the web3 scaling mission and b) lack sufficient devtooling to support the modular appchain thesis.
